Grounded by Faith

These flowers all have their own stem that lifts them up from the ground and gives them life-giving water.

Another life that received life giving water was the Samaritan woman in John 4. But more than one life was born that day. The Samaritan people from her village testified for themselves.

They told the woman, “Our faith is no longer based on what you’ve said. We have heard Him ourselves, and we know that he really is the Savior of the world.” (John 4:42 GW)

Everyone must have their own faith. God is patient, not wanting anyone to perish. In the waiting, we pray for those we love, for those trapped by sin, for our city, our region, our world. Join Jesus in His intercession for the harvest.

Clearly, Christ’s love guides us. We are convinced of the fact that one man has died for all people. Therefore, all people have died.

God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships. (2 Corinthians 5:14, 18 GW)

James 3:18...

Harvest

“Look at the birds. They don’t plant, harvest, or gather the harvest into barns. Yet, your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they? “Can any of you add a single hour to your life by worrying?

And why worry about clothes? Notice how the flowers grow in the field. They never work or spin yarn for clothes. But I say that not even Solomon in all his majesty was dressed like one of these flowers.

That’s the way God clothes the grass in the field. Today it’s alive, and tomorrow it’s thrown into an incinerator. So how much more will he clothe you people who have so little faith? (Matthew 6:26-30 GW)

I was reading this morning and the line that stuck out was what the birds don't do. We are given the immeasurable privilege of participating in the harvest. Seek God first, pray to The Lord of the harvest, pray for the harvest, participate in planting and harvesting and gathering and let God handle the rest. Souls. It is about saving souls.

James 3:18 for sure "A harvest that has God’s approval comes from the peace planted by peacemakers." (James 3:18 GW)

Mist

You don’t know what will happen tomorrow. What is life? You are a mist that is seen for a moment and then disappears. Instead, you should say, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and carry out our plans.” (James 4:14, 15 GW)

For many years my daddy saw this angle of his boat. Many years he took great joy carting around the family while they sang hymns on the lake at sunset. Many years pulling boogie boards and skis. Many years of trolling for fish sometimes or just dragging family very slowly in floats behind the boat. Seems like yesterday, but also seems so far away. I do not understand, but I trust.

I have been signing my blog with James 4:14 since I began. It seems fitting to change today since the verse is seared in my heart with pain, but mostly with hope.

My dad lived his time carrying out the Lord's plan in his life, ministering to others and praying. I am the first hand recipient of The Lord working on my daddy's behalf. This mist I have left I want to be sowing peace and reconciliation. First, pleading with all who will listen, just like my daddy... Be reconciled to God and second, as evidenced by those my daddy touched be reconciled to each other. This was the cry of my daddy's heart, but more importantly this cry began in the heart of my Heavenly Father.

Lord, may I help you bring in the harvest and reconcile the family.
