Go and Rest(Serve)

T.W. Manson was a Professor Biblical Criticism and Exegesis in the mid 1900s. He is quoted about serving.

"In the Kingdom of God, service is not a stepping tone to nobility. It is nobility."

Two of Jesus' disciples asked Him if they could sit on either side of Him when He comes into His Kingdom. In response in Matthew 20:26, Jesus told His disciples  "whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant" 

The balance of work and rest is I believe found in service.
Hebrews 4:9-11 talks about the Sabbath rest of God...

⁹ There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; ¹⁰ for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. ¹¹ Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

The rest of God is through surrender not the absence of work.
